LamasaTech Designs Engaging and Accessible Exhibition Using Creative AV & Projection Technologies

Woodhorn Museum, located in the historic No.2 winding house at the former colliery, commissioned LamasaTech to transform a former storage space with very limited access into an engaging, informative and fully accessible exhibition interpretation area that would bring the site’s mining history to life for all visitors.

LamasaTech delivered three bespoke projection features — an animated, scale-accurate mineshaft projected onto original brickwork with a soundscape recorded from the winding machinery; a filmed interview with ex-windermen; and an archival storytelling timeline — supported by full AV installation (projectors, speakers, induction loop, show control and accessibility features, subtitling and copyright clearance). The exhibition opened to strong attendance, sustained daily footfall and highly positive feedback, with the client praising LamasaTech’s creativity, commitment and interpretive success.
