Hotel del Coronado transforms its historic Ocean Ballroom with LAI Live using 3 projection surfaces

The historic Hotel del Coronado in San Diego presented a unique challenge for its Ocean Ballroom, a tall, circular space with large windows and a fixed stage. LAI Live was tasked with transforming this 19th-century venue into a modern, engaging experience for the ALTA One conference, moving beyond simply fitting the event into the room's existing constraints.

LAI Live implemented a solution combining LED panels and projection. They placed LED panels around the room's center circle to mask architectural features and built a large LED wall to replace the stage drape. This was complemented by multiple projection screens. The result was a complete transformation of the historic ballroom into a modern, eco-friendly production. LAI Live successfully created an immersive visual experience with custom graphics that supported programming and provided full audience coverage, all while requiring minimal rigging.
