Ripon College installs one-card security across 24 of 26 buildings with LaForce

Ripon College, a private liberal arts school, faced challenges with an outdated and unsupported access control system that lacked adequate lockdown procedures. The historic nature of many of its 26 campus buildings further complicated the need for a new integrated security solution. The college partnered with vendor LaForce to design and install a new security management system that could work within these historic constraints.

LaForce implemented Vanderbilt Industries' Security Management System, which integrated with the college's software for a unified "one card" solution for access and services. They carefully installed the system around class schedules and replaced 22 doors to ensure proper physical security, including doors that matched the historic aesthetics. The result was a reliable system with granular access control and a tested lockdown procedure. LaForce provided ongoing support, and the college's director noted the project was completed on an aggressive timeframe with minimal disruption.
