Loyola Academy replaces a historic opening in 2017 with LaForce

Loyola Academy, a private Jesuit college in Wilmette, IL, needed to replace a very old and distinct opening with an energy-efficient, modern door. The challenge was to maintain the building's traditional look while accommodating a wall with several layers. LaForce was engaged to solve this dilemma.

LaForce sent personnel to design a custom frame to fit over the layered wall. The vendor worked with Special Lite to supply a wood grain fiberglass door with customized lites, which provided the appearance of wood without the maintenance issues. This solution successfully modernized the opening while preserving the historical character of the academy's building.
