PETRONAS Lubricants Italy, a subsidiary of PETRONAS, needed a laboratory information management system (LIMS) to track internal and experimental analyses, secure current and historical data, share results internally, measure KPIs, and meet ISO 17025 requirements including sample tracking, audit trails and electronic signatures. After evaluating several vendors, PETRONAS selected LabVantage Solutions for its strong presence in Italy and the configurable LABVANTAGE 6 platform.

LabVantage Solutions implemented LABVANTAGE 6 as a highly configurable LIMS, meeting 90% of PETRONAS’s requirements through configuration rather than customization and going live in under a year. The solution reduced development and testing overhead, lowered cost of ownership, satisfied ISO 17025 needs and audit/e-signature requirements, and — according to PETRONAS’s CIO — met all requirements, with plans to expand instrument connectivity and roll out to additional departments and sites.
