Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), the largest subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation responsible for exploration, drilling and production, needed a state-of-the-art Laboratory Information Management System to standardize lab information across its West Kuwait and North Kuwait water-handling assets, support ISO 9000 & 17025 certification, integrate seamlessly with corporate and plant systems, and handle 24x7 upstream process laboratory operations. After an extensive evaluation, KOC selected LabVantage Solutions’ SQL*LIMS to meet these requirements.

LabVantage Solutions implemented SQL*LIMS (first phase completed December 2011) across KOC’s WK labs and extended it to NK, integrating the LIMS with KOC’s FINDER database, providing enterprise licenses, infrastructure and a dedicated 24x7 maintenance and training team. The solution improved productivity and data accuracy, made lab data traceable, retrievable and remotely accessible, enhanced reporting (daily sample, trend, workload and chemical consumption reports), and surpassed expectations while enabling an enterprise roll-out and certification readiness.
