How Oxford Biomedica Streamlined Viral Vector Development and Manufacturing with LabVantage

Oxford Biomedica, a UK-based CDMO specializing in lentiviral, AAV and adenoviral vectors, faced rapidly increasing demand while still managing QC and laboratory data on paper. To improve sample tracking, chain-of-custody, and the ability to run timely metrics, Oxford Biomedica selected LabVantage Solutions and began a SaaS deployment of LabVantage Pharmaceutical LIMS with an integrated SDMS for its US cell and gene therapy manufacturing site.

LabVantage delivered a pre‑validated, SaaS LIMS with instrument integration, consumables tracking, CoA generation, audit trails and professional services support, and worked with Oxford Biomedica to build a script that parses ddPCR Excel outputs into the SDMS. The implementation removed much manual data processing, mitigated operator errors, dramatically reduced the time needed to run metrics (previously taking up to a week), improved traceability and user adoption, and is scheduled to go live by the end of Q2 2024.
