Foremost Farms, a cooperative of roughly 4,400 dairy farmers with 25 testing laboratories, faced fragmented data collection—patron milk data in distributed systems and ingredients testing in Excel—making tracking, searching and regulatory reporting difficult. The cooperative sought a user-configurable, technician-manageable LIMS and selected LabVantage Solutions for its out-of-the-box functionality, configurability and enterprise support.

LabVantage Solutions deployed the LABVANTAGE LIMS across all 25 labs, centralizing data on a corporate server with Citrix delivery, interfacing about 50 instruments and using wireless mobile data capture. The system now handles ~300 ingredient samples/day, ~1,200 central-lab samples/day and 3,000 patron milk samples/day into the payment system, delivering standardized workflows, faster traceability, higher lab productivity and allowing IT to focus on other value-added activities.
