University of the Southern Caribbean boosts STEM grades and confidence with Labster

The University of the Southern Caribbean, an in-person university, sought to support its students in overcoming the challenges of visualizing complex STEM concepts and reducing anxiety in lab settings. To address this, the institution utilized Labster's virtual lab simulations.

Labster provided an interactive and flexible digital platform that allowed students like biology major Felesha Jack to complete lab work outside of a physical lab. The solution reinforced concepts through user-friendly simulations, such as one on biodiversity and another on chemical hybridization, which helped students visualize difficult topics. As a result, students reported higher grades on Labster assignments compared to traditional labs, increased confidence in approaching lecturers, and reduced anxiety. Labster also provided valuable career preparation for students aiming for biomedical research.
