RMIT University equips 600 students per semester with Labster virtual labs

RMIT University faced the challenge of making its cell biology and biochemistry courses pandemic-proof when on-campus laboratory classes were no longer accessible. Associate Professor Donald Wlodkowic needed an alternative solution to continue teaching his 600 students per semester and turned to the vendor Labster for its virtual lab simulations.

Labster provided a solution with its immersive virtual labs, which allowed students to interactively perform experiments and master techniques like flow cytometry. The implementation resulted in continued student learning during lockdown and proved to be a valuable supplemental tool for on-campus teaching. The professor reported that Labster enabled the teaching of advanced, modern techniques that were otherwise too cost-prohibitive for large cohorts of first and second-year students.
