Maintaining Rigor to Develop Content Mastery

St. John Bosco High School needed to provide a deep, rigorous learning experience for students in its Biomedical Pathway Program during the shift to distance learning at the start of the pandemic. The challenge was to simulate hands-on laboratory work to maintain academic rigor and prepare students for college. The school turned to the vendor Labster and adopted its virtual lab simulations.

Labster provided a solution with 41 immersive simulations, such as Acids and Bases and Titration. The instructor enriched these simulations with custom lab reports and used the teacher dashboard to track student progress and scores. The result was a highly successful implementation that provided clarity, incredible graphics, and a platform that forced students to analyze and think, achieving the desired content mastery and academic rigor. Labster was so effective that it continues to be a key tool, paired with in-person labs, for in-depth learning.
