Karolinska Institutet boosts cell biology prep with Labster and 4 virtual lab modules

Karolinska Institutet, through Course Director Matthew Kirkham, sought to improve practical training and theoretical understanding of methods for students in its biomedicine program. The challenge was to enhance students' experimental biology skills and access to lab experiences.

The solution was implemented using Labster's virtual lab simulations. After a successful pilot, the institution increased its use of Labster to prepare students for wet labs, enhance theoretical knowledge, and provide access to high-end machinery virtually. The results showed students found the simulations useful and engaging, with over 50% agreeing they are a good complementary tool to physical labs, leading to increased understanding of course content and lab procedures.
