Fisk University raises chemistry grades from C- to B with Labster

Fisk University, a small Historically Black College and University (HBCU), faced the challenge of finding an effective alternative to in-person chemistry labs during the pandemic. Cord Carter, a chemistry lecturer and lab manager, was responsible for ensuring continued high-quality science education for students despite the limitations on physical resources and facilities.

The university adopted Labster's virtual lab simulations. By integrating these simulations into courses for homework and in-class activities, the solution made science more accessible and relatable to students. After implementing Labster, Cord Carter compared outcomes and found that the average final course grade increased from a C- to a B, demonstrating a significant improvement in student learning and success.
