A Labstep Case Study
Sherlock Biosciences, a Boston-based molecular diagnostics company using its CRISPR-powered SHERLOCK platform to transform infectious disease and public health testing, faced delays and productivity loss from a clunky electronic lab notebook and fragmented data systems. Entering information for new experiments was difficult, records were scattered across multiple tools, much time was spent reproducing past work, and experimental downtime occurred due to technical issues with their previous ELN.
Labstep implemented a stable, cloud-based ELN with a live experiment tracker accessible across devices, consolidating all data and protocols in one place. As a result, Labstep eliminated ELN-caused downtime, doubled efficiency for recordkeeping (2x less time spent), improved user adoption via a simple UI, enabled efficient onboarding with no new-user training required, and provided 24/7 personalized support.
