A Labstep Case Study
QustomDot, a Ghent-based materials science company that develops on-chip semiconductor nanoparticles for LEDs and microLEDs, faced fragmented, paper-based record keeping that led to lost or scattered data, difficulty analyzing parallel experiments, and limited team transparency. To address this, they adopted the Labstep platform to replace individual paper notebooks and centralize experimental records.
Using Labstep, QustomDot moved to shared, linked experiment entries with access controls, built-in traceability, and the ability to order equipment directly through the platform. Labstep’s solution eliminated data loss, improved transparency and consistency across teams, made multi-experiment workflows easier to manage, and reduced costs—resulting in enhanced data integrity and controlled access to knowledge for the QustomDot team.
