A Labstep Case Study
MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM, a major Medical Research Council research unit in West Africa, needed to synchronise and streamline data collection across bench, field and desk while improving communication with UK collaborators and eliminating paper records. In December 2018 Labstep rolled out its cloud-based, mobile- and desktop-optimised research platform across 320 resident researchers to centralise protocols, data and collaboration.
Labstep delivered on-site deployment and training, connected instruments via an integration engineer, set up accounts, and supplied tablets to local researchers while providing remote support and project setup for overseas collaborators through its customer success team. As a result, Labstep replaced paper records, improved record-keeping and data capture, and enabled more efficient collaboration and GCP‑compliant trial support for the Unit — a rollout reaching 320 researchers with immediate operational impact.
