Pegs launches a full-stack local commerce platform across AU and US with Labrys

Labrys partnered with Pegs, a local commerce platform, to build a full-stack application that serves three distinct user types: consumers, merchants, and community organizations. The challenge was to develop a single React Native codebase with separate flows and permissions for each user, alongside a complex payments infrastructure requiring multiple integrations and a sophisticated voucher engine. This was further complicated by the need to expand the platform into the US market under a new brand without disrupting the existing Australian live product.

The solution implemented by Labrys was a cross-platform React Native mobile app supported by a Koa.js backend, featuring a multi-tenant architecture to serve both Australian and US markets from a single codebase. Labrys built a comprehensive payments system with Stripe and Square integrations, a voucher engine with QR code redemptions, and a full admin dashboard. The result was a complete local commerce ecosystem that successfully launched across two markets, serving three user types with a unified platform and a sophisticated financial infrastructure.
