A LaborChart Case Study
Joe Dickey Electric, a North Lima, Ohio-based electrical contractor serving residential, industrial, and utility projects since 1957, was managing labor on spreadsheets. Their data quickly became outdated and hard to share across the team, creating inefficiencies in workforce planning and coordination.
In 2015, Joe Dickey Electric adopted LaborChart, a workforce management platform, to manage rosters, track workforce locations, store HR data, and forecast labor needs. With LaborChart, they gained an 8-week lookahead, graphical insights from completed jobs, and better visibility into certifications, skills, and contact information. The result was a major shift: the company no longer needed someone dedicated full-time to labor management, allowing that person to focus on safety, field operations, and broader business priorities while LaborChart handled workforce planning.
