Labguru digitizes the Francis Crick Institute's data and streamlines experiment tracking

The Francis Crick Institute’s Immunity and Cancer Laboratory, led by Dinis Calado, needed a better way to track multiple, long-running mouse-model experiments and manage reagents that were unwieldy in paper notebooks. To solve this, the group adopted Labguru as their electronic lab notebook (ELN) and inventory management system, using it for over two and a half years to replace paper-based records.

Labguru was implemented to house all lab databases, tag antibodies/primers/plasmids in the context of experiments, and link inventory with experimental steps, improving interconnectivity and communication between team members. As a result, Labguru made project timelines searchable for easy backtracking, enabled newcomers to find reagents and protocols independently, reduced duplicate orders, and streamlined stock management—measurable gains in workflow efficiency and collaboration across the lab.
