Case Study: Radboudumc improves lab efficiency and collaboration with Labguru

Labguru digitizes Radboud UMC's data to promote efficiency and collaboration

Radboudumc, a leading academic medical center, needed to move away from paper lab notebooks and scattered spreadsheets to better support fast-moving genetics research. With more than 20 PI groups and around 125 active users in the Human Genetics department, they needed an electronic lab notebook (ELN) that could be both structured and flexible while also protecting sensitive patient data and enabling controlled collaboration.

Labguru provided the ELN and related informatics tools, including private encrypted cloud storage, group-based access controls, inventory management, and customizable fields. With Labguru, Radboudumc digitized lab workflows, improved search and data retrieval, strengthened communication across groups, and made ordering and inventory management more cost-effective. The center now has approximately 800 Labguru users, and the platform has helped accelerate research and improve division-wide collaboration.
