A LabArchives Case Study
Tulane University needed a tool to help researchers across both the hard sciences and humanities efficiently store, organize, and share their data. A campus governance committee was formed to find a solution for this challenge, which became even more pressing with the need for remote collaboration during the COVID-19 pandemic. They selected LabArchives, an electronic lab notebook, to serve this diverse research community.
The university implemented LabArchives with a focus on gradual adoption, using examples and tutorials to show its utility for everything from anthropology to health sciences. The solution provided a dynamic, centralized platform that was more robust than standard cloud storage, enabling real-time communication and project management. LabArchives was crucial during the shift to remote work, allowing research to continue seamlessly. The rollout was met with a positive response, with researchers signing up for workshops and recognizing the value of the platform for organizing their work and collaboration.
