Scripps Research - Customer Case Study

The customer, Scripps Research, worked with a high school educator to create a research course preparing students for professional lab internships. The challenge was a lack of continuity and institutional memory from year to year, as paper notebooks failed to provide a central repository for the work done by successive groups of students.

The solution was implementing LabArchives, a digital lab notebook. This provided a centralized platform for documentation, allowing new students to build upon previous work. As a result, students became proficient with an industry-standard tool, successfully completed internships at Scripps, and some even co-authored papers. Scripps Research benefitted by receiving well-trained, "actually useful" interns, and frequently requested more students from the program.
