Brewer Science, a developer and manufacturer of advanced materials for microdevices, sought to transition from paper notebooks to an electronic lab notebook (ELN) to prevent data loss, improve invention documentation, and facilitate easier searching and sharing of research. Their initial in-house solution was not user-friendly, prompting a new search for a third-party vendor, which led them to LabArchives.

LabArchives provided a cost-effective ELN solution with an intuitive interface and strong customer support. The product was well-received by researchers for its ability to record and share work and by IP personnel for its auditing capabilities. For rollout, Brewer Science is establishing file structures, creating training for superusers, and planning phased onboarding to ensure high adoption rates across the organization.
