Viva Energy connects 700+ stores in 4 months with Lab3

Viva Energy, one of Australia's largest fuel and convenience retailers, faced the challenge of modernizing the on-premises environments across its 700+ stores following a major acquisition. Their goal was to connect these locations in a hybrid cloud and deploy a data platform to collect real-time data within an accelerated timeframe. They partnered with Lab3 to leverage Microsoft technologies for this transformation.

Using Lab3's unique accelerators, Viva Energy deployed an automated Azure Landing Zone and connected all stores with Azure Local in just four months. They also implemented Microsoft Fabric as their data platform, ingesting data from over 4,000 sources. The solution provided operational resilience and real-time data reporting without disrupting services. Lab3's approach enabled Viva Energy to lead in AI innovation and featured the project at Microsoft Ignite 2024.
