Fair Work Commission uplifts SIEM in 4 weeks with Lab3

The Fair Work Commission, Australia's national workplace relations tribunal, faced the challenge of improving its cybersecurity posture to match the speed and sophistication of modern AI threats in a cost-effective way. To address this, the Commission engaged Lab3 to uplift its Microsoft Sentinel environment and transition its Security Operations Centre (SOC) management.

Lab3 implemented a code-based uplift of Microsoft Sentinel, deploying analytical controls and automation to improve threat visibility and reduce reliance on manual analysis. They also transitioned SOC management to their own Australian-based, cloud-centric service to ensure data sovereignty. As a result, the Commission achieved significant security improvements, including a seamless transition of 26 connectors and 69 tables, with over 20 rounds of tuning in the first six months for continuous improvement.
