Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology, faced an escalating communications challenge as email lists grew from early experiments in the 1980s to thousands of active lists supporting 16,000 students, 800 faculty and 1,200 staff. Manual administration became unmanageable, so Technion turned to L-Soft and its LISTSERV family (eventually installing LISTSERV HPO) to provide automated, scalable mailing‑list management.
L-Soft’s LISTSERV HPO delivered high‑performance, secure and feature‑rich list administration, including an Oracle OCI interface for daily membership updates, faculty‑level entry pages and tools to target segments like alumni or Ph.D. students. The solution now supports about 4,000 active lists and roughly 150,000 messages per week, improving professor–student and administrative communication, reducing unsubscribes, and yielding fast L-Soft support response times.
