A Kyriba Case Study
Royal FrieslandCampina, a global dairy cooperative, set out to transform its corporate treasury from a policy-focused function into a strategic, proactive operation with centralized treasury operations and global cash visibility. The team faced fragmented payments and intercompany processes, a major bank withdrawing cash management services, and the need for a treasury-owned IT strategy—prioritizing cloud solutions and dedicated roles to drive change.
Through "Project Everest" FrieslandCampina implemented a centralized payments hub, Coprocess netting (processing ~1 million invoices/year and saving ~€100k in transaction fees), and a Kyriba-based in‑house bank rolled out in six months (180 accounts, €3.7bn balance, 50% fewer external accounts). A payment-factory pilot with virtual accounts is underway and plans include FX risk automation and RPA. The program was delivered on time and on budget, reduced errors and costs, improved cash control and stakeholder insight, and freed treasury time for strategic work.
