Transforming a digital workplace to increase customer trust

Belfius Bank, a leading Belgian bank and insurer serving 3.8 million customers, faced a digital workplace challenge as hybrid work exposed limitations of its on‑prem, centralized application model—unpredictable disconnections and slow adoption of new technologies. To modernize securely and improve employee experience, Belfius engaged Kyndryl to redesign its digital workplace using Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender and Windows 11.

Kyndryl implemented a phased modernization and a new corporate device program that gives 12,000 Belfius employees direct access to Office 365, automated cloud‑based updates via Intune in Azure, and zero‑trust protection with Microsoft Defender, plus Digital Experience Management to proactively resolve issues. As a result, Belfius reports increased productivity and engagement, frictionless anywhere‑working, reduced technical incidents, and stronger fleet‑wide security while refactoring virtualized apps to run on Windows 11.
