A Kyndryl Case Study

Schneider Electric - Customer Case Study

Schneider Electric, a global energy company, needed to modernize and centralize its SAP-based business applications—integrating more than 40 acquired digital-first companies—while migrating from a colocation in southern France to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The key challenges were to move mission‑critical SAP landscapes without disrupting factory and distribution operations, reduce run costs and technical debt, improve resiliency and lower carbon footprint, all within tight 48‑hour weekend migration windows. Kyndryl was engaged to design, host and migrate Schneider Electric’s SAP infrastructure and manage the environment through the transition.

Kyndryl implemented a coordinated migration and managed‑services approach—designing the hosting infrastructure, providing specs for Schneider’s AWS landing zone, executing weekend cutovers, introducing AIOps and a dedicated team, and then managing the SAP landscapes on AWS. The results: 8 of 12 SAP landscapes migrated with no business interruption, more than 40 acquired companies integrated into centralized SAP operations, each migration confined to 48 hours or less, an SLA of 99.999% uptime and an NPS improvement from 5.6 to 10, demonstrating measurable operational continuity and scalability driven by Kyndryl.
