A Kyndryl Case Study

Preview of the Turkey’s Isbank Case Study

Elevated data center performance—building a bridge to a resilient future

Turkey’s Isbank, Turkey’s first public bank serving over 20 million customers with 1,300+ branches and 6,500+ ATMs, faced a critical resiliency challenge after a severe network outage: migrate servers, applications and data to a new, highly resilient data center without disrupting banking services. To meet this need the bank engaged Kyndryl (formerly IBM Infrastructure Services), tapping Kyndryl Business Resiliency Services and analytics-led discovery capabilities to plan the move.

Kyndryl executed “Project Atlas,” assembling a global team and using its Analytics for Logical Dependency Mapping (ALDM) to map dependencies, then migrated 6,000 servers, 750 applications and 4 PB of data to a Tier 4 data center in nine months with no data loss and minimal downtime. The Kyndryl-delivered solution raised end-to-end availability from 99.93% to 99.97%, delivered Turkey’s first Uptime Institute Tier 4 facility, and earned DCD Magazine’s Infrastructure Scale-Out Award, while positioning Turkey’s Isbank for future cloud adoption.
