Morbihan Énergies unifies data for 249 municipalities with Kuzzle

Morbihan Énergies, a public energy syndicate serving 249 municipalities in France, faced the challenge of managing a growing number of heterogeneous data sources from areas like electric mobility and connected lighting. They needed to centralize this data without being locked into a single vendor's ecosystem. To achieve this, they implemented an open data platform and IoT module from the vendor Kuzzle.

The Kuzzle platform provided an abstraction layer to collect, standardize, and structure all of the region's data in one place. This solution delivered vendor independence, shared costs across the department, and simplified scaling for new use cases. The results included a single view of data from all sources, reliable APIs for member local authorities, and the ability to progressively roll out projects like monitoring 75,000 light points and expanding building energy-performance sensors from a few pilot sites to 250 sites.
