Case Study: SNCF improves station monitoring and energy efficiency with Kuzzle IoT

Monitoring of existing station infrastructure equipment such as lighting and escalators

SNCF Gares & Connexions worked with Kuzzle to improve remote monitoring and control of equipment at the Aix-en-Provence TGV station. Using Kuzzle IoT, the company needed better visibility into station assets to understand equipment status, detect malfunctions early, and support smarter maintenance and energy management.

Kuzzle implemented an open source IoT platform with connected sensors, dashboards, real-time alerts, and device management to monitor lighting, elevators, HVAC, photovoltaic production, and energy consumption. The result was real-time data collection across around 1,000 connected devices and about 50 maintenance alerts per day, helping SNCF optimize energy use, prevent failures, and improve passenger comfort.
