Vispera learns more from photographs with EventStoreDB

Vispera, a company specializing in image-based stock analysis for large grocers, faced the challenge of scaling its manual, low-level system into a robust platform. Their process for monitoring retail displays and inventory was cumbersome and could not handle accumulating business requirements. To modernize, they turned to vendor Kurrent for a solution using EventStoreDB, seeking an event-driven architecture that could provide a reliable audit trail and concurrency guarantees.

Kurrent's EventStoreDB provided the foundational technology for Vispera's new event-driven system. The solution enabled a powerful and maintainable pipeline for processing image data and offered vital optimistic concurrency controls. The implementation, later moved to Event Store Cloud for managed hosting, resulted in a highly scalable and safe system. This allows Vispera to reprocess historical event data to gain new insights, effectively letting them run new services "from the beginning of time" without the burden of external backups.
