How to Host a Virtual Networking Event Like a Pro

Diversity Comic Con, a conference organization based in Providence, Rhode Island, wanted to recreate the energy and personal connection of its in-person networking online. To do that, the team turned to Kumospace and its Virtual Events product to host the virtual networking portion of its annual event, with the challenge of making attendees feel engaged in a format that was very different from a standard video call.

Kumospace provided an immersive virtual networking space where guests could move naturally between small groups, have private conversations, and use fun features like music and virtual drinks to spark interaction. According to the customer, the experience helped overcome Zoom fatigue, made attendees laugh and stay longer, and supported more lively, relationship-driven networking. No specific numeric metrics were given, but Kumospace was credited with making the virtual gathering feel more fun, memorable, and effective.
