How a Remote Design Company Keeps Connected with Virtual Team Happy Hours

Hatch Design, a remote branding and design agency, was struggling to keep employees connected and engaged after moving from their San Francisco office to fully remote work during the pandemic. To help combat Zoom fatigue and maintain team morale, the company turned to Kumospace’s virtual events platform for a more interactive way to bring people together.

Using Kumospace, Hatch Design launched weekly virtual team socials called “Thirsty Thursdays” and also built a custom virtual space with playful, interactive features like custom furniture, a jukebox, a piano, and a whiteboard. The result was a more natural, social experience that helped coworkers relax, spark conversations, and reconnect across distances, giving the team a meaningful alternative to Slack and Zoom and a closer feel to in-person hangouts.
