Weis, a 105-year-old food retailer operating 200+ stores and a 1.3-million-square-foot distribution center in Milton, PA, needed to scale its transportation operations and gain visibility and data to streamline inbound and outbound freight. Lacking a TMS and facing hundreds of inbound LTL deliveries and manual scheduling, Weis selected Kuebix’s cloud-based TMS to provide the technology and managed-transportation support required to improve DC efficiencies, compliance and routing.

Kuebix implemented its cloud TMS and helped Weis deploy an inbound compliance and routing guide, online scheduling and LTL consolidation with three national carriers. The solution cut LTL deliveries from a couple hundred per week to about 20–30, improved warehouse utilization, expanded backhaul and vendor-pickup programs (with vendor reimbursements), and provided the tracking data and decision support that reduced costs and increased operational efficiency.
