MTN Group, Africa’s largest mobile telecommunications company with 240M subscribers and 20,000+ employees across 24 countries, faced weak cross-team communication and a lack of open feedback. Kudos rolled out its recognition platform, engagement hub and analytics, which management integrated into performance reviews and everyday routines; more than 50% of managers actively recognize colleagues via the system and recognition frequency has more than doubled year‑over‑year (over 300,000 messages sent annually). The Kudos solution contributed to measurable benefits for MTN: sustained improvements in employee engagement, reduced voluntary turnover, higher Net Promoter Scores across regions, and a 2015 SARA award.
