SLAMTEC - Customer Case Study

SLAMTEC, a Shanghai-based robotics company founded in 2013, needed a more stable and reliable container cloud platform for its IoT applications. To support fast product iteration, the company wanted a solution with high availability, scalability, security, strong monitoring, microservice support, and CI/CD capabilities beyond its legacy Alibaba Cloud and VMware vSphere environment. Kubernetes was chosen as the orchestration platform.

With Kubernetes, SLAMTEC also adopted Prometheus for monitoring, Fluentd for logging, Harbor for image registry, Helm for package management, and later integrated Istio, Jaeger, and Envoy for service mesh capabilities. The results were significant: SLAMTEC reported 18+ months of 100% stability, zero service downtime, seamless upgrades, 50% less microservice configuration and maintenance effort, 50% less time spent troubleshooting and debugging, and 30% savings in CI/CD effort.
