How Cloud Native Is Enabling Babylon's Medical AI Innovations

Babylon Health, an AI and healthcare company, faced a lack of in-house computing power to run large-scale AI experiments and needed to support rapid international growth. Their challenge was to provide researchers with instantaneous, scalable compute resources and centralized tools to accelerate innovation.

The solution was implemented using Kubernetes and its ecosystem, specifically Kubeflow, to build a self-service AI training platform. This Kubernetes-based solution provided instant access to compute, slashing clinical validation times from 10 hours to under 20 minutes and enabling massive parallel processing. The portability of the cloud native platform also directly supported Babylon Health's successful expansion into new countries.
