The challenge was to build an infrastructure that was agile, reliable, scalable, and reusable across multiple federal agencies, using Kubernetes to support the modernization effort.

Kubernetes helped Booz Allen Hamilton implement a microservice and container-based platform on AWS, enabling faster, more consistent deployments and built-in monitoring, security, and logging. With Kubernetes, changes now take about 30 minutes instead of hours or days, recreation.gov deploys to production around 10 times per day, new services can be published within a week, and the modern platform has delivered an estimated 50% cost savings.
