Embracing Cloud Native as a User – and a Vendor

Huawei, a global telecommunications equipment company based in Shenzhen, China, wanted to embrace cloud native operations and move its internal Internet IT applications onto a modern container platform. Working with Kubernetes, Huawei began adopting container technology to support its cloud native transformation and to better demonstrate the value of cloud at scale.

Kubernetes helped Huawei migrate applications to cloud native infrastructure, and about 30% of the Internet IT department’s applications have already been transferred. The results were significant: deployment time dropped from about a week to just minutes, improving developer productivity and department satisfaction. Huawei also uses Kubernetes as proof of its own cloud native credibility when advising customers on microservices and cloud migration.
