Sony - Customer Case Study

Sony Brazil, a division of the global electronics company, was facing a significant challenge with damaged printed circuit boards during television set testing. This damage was caused by static discharge and undesirable electrical currents feedback from the equipment being tested, which compromised their production process and reliability.

The vendor, Kramer, provided a solution by installing 17 OC-2 Optical Isolator units. These devices use optical isolation technology to completely separate the signal input from the output, thereby eliminating ground loops and preventing damaging currents. After implementing Kramer's solution, Sony Brazil reported that the problem of damaged printed circuit boards completely disappeared, resolving their production issue and preventing further equipment damage.
