Case Study: Sào Paulo Metro achieves reliable 24/7 digital signage with Kramer amplifiers

A Kramer Case Study

Preview of the Sào Paulo Metro Case Study

São Paulo Metro Digital Signage Project

The Sào Paulo Metro faced a significant challenge in installing a digital signage system across its entire fleet to provide real-time information and advertisements. Their initial attempt, using standard XGA cables, resulted in signal noise and failure due to extreme electromagnetic interference from the trains' engines. For this large-scale project, the Metro partnered with vendor Kramer to find a robust solution utilizing twisted pair transmission equipment.

Kramer implemented a solution using its TP-100 twisted pair transmitters, TP-200 receivers, and VP series distribution amplifiers to reliably send XGA signals. This Kramer equipment successfully overcame the electromagnetic noise, operating flawlessly 24/7 in high-temperature environments. The result was a perfectly reliable system with zero equipment failures in the first year of operation, providing critical information to over 3 million daily passengers and leading the customer to strongly recommend Kramer for any similar project.
