A Kramer Case Study
The National Parks Service required an automated control system for the presentation in Ellis Island Theater One. The challenge was creating a precise, automated schedule for the film that runs hourly, while adhering to government security regulations that prevented a network connection for timing. Kramer worked with the NPS to design a solution centered around their K-Touch control system.
The solution utilized the cloud-based Kramer K-Touch platform, which runs on tablets to control the HD media player, surround sound processor, and lighting over IP. A Kramer SL-1N controller was used as the system's secure time source. This allowed the system to run unattended for eight hours daily. The successful implementation for an estimated 300,000 annual visitors led to plans for duplicating the Kramer system in a second theater.
