Kramer Switchers Route Video and Audio Data at the Placelab an MIT and TIAX LLC initiative; PlaceLab Studies Baby Boomer Living Habits

The customer, PlaceLab (a research initiative by MIT and TIAX LLC), required a complex system to route, manage, and record extensive audio and video data for a study on baby boomer living habits. Their challenge was to find a vendor that could provide detailed control and switching capabilities for numerous computer and sensor connections within their research facility.

Kramer provided the solution with its VS-3232 matrix switcher and VM-30AVB distribution amplifiers. This equipment successfully routed video from over 30 cameras and audio from microphones to 20 computers for analysis and storage, forming the core technological infrastructure for the lab. The result was a state-of-the-art research environment that enables unique studies on health and well-being. Kramer's solution, supported by an academic discount, met the facility's complex needs with top-of-the-line technology.
