Amec Foster Wheeler, an oil and gas engineering firm, required a simple and clutter-free audio/visual solution for its conference and training rooms. Their challenge was to enable employees to present from laptops using either HDMI or VGA connections without complex control systems or unsightly equipment on tabletops. The vendor, Kramer, provided its scalers and connectivity products through integrator Industrial Audio/Video Inc. to meet this need.

The solution involved installing Kramer VP-434 and VP-435 scalers, along with cabling, discreetly under conference tables. This allowed users to connect a laptop and immediately see a picture on the screen with the push of a single button, eliminating technical adjustments. The result was a clean, user-friendly system deployed across 23 rooms that saved on rewiring costs by utilizing existing CAT5 cabling. Kramer's technology successfully met the customer's core requirements for simplicity and a minimalist aesthetic.
