Furuno Smart Bridge, Powered by Kramer, Delivers Unprecedented Flexibility and Control

Furuno, a marine electronics company, needed to display real-time data and video throughout its ships and enable remote control with no latency. Their challenge was to create a flexible, high-quality AV system for vessel bridges that could be customized to exacting needs. They partnered with vendor Kramer to implement a solution using the KDS AVoIP streaming platform and Kramer Control.

Kramer implemented its KDS AVoIP and Kramer Control solutions to distribute excellent 4K video with no latency over the ship's network. This allowed the crew to view and control data from anywhere on the ship or remotely via tablets, utilizing flexible pre-defined layouts for different activities. The results were immediate, with the captain and crew finding the system easy to use from day one. The project was a success due to strong collaboration with Kramer, delivering unprecedented flexibility and control for Furuno's Smart Bridge system.
