Mail.ru Group’s Delivery Club, Russia’s largest online food delivery platform, needed a way to manage a modern microservices architecture serving more than 30,000 orders per day, much of it from mobile devices. The challenge was to secure traffic, simplify access to many services, and keep user sessions properly authorized while reducing complexity for UI teams.

KrakenD API Gateway was implemented between users and Delivery Club’s services to process incoming and outgoing traffic, block malicious activity, aggregate data from around 20 services into simplified endpoints, and standardize microservice outputs. KrakenD also supported custom plugins for internal workflows such as user validation, helping Delivery Club improve integration, consistency, and developer productivity across teams.
