A KPMG Case Study
The customer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound, faced a significant challenge with its manual, time-consuming process for matching mentors with mentees. This inefficient system relied on staff memory and intuition, leading to an average matching time of over 200 days and a persistent waitlist of at least 500 children. To address this, the nonprofit partnered with vendor KPMG to find a technological solution.
KPMG developed and implemented AIMRE (AI Match Recommendation Engine) on the Microsoft Fabric platform. This AI-powered solution analyzes a decade of application data to provide data-driven match recommendations, reducing the matching process from months to minutes. The results included a dramatic reduction in administrative burden, improved match success rates, and increased capacity, allowing the organization to support over 1,000 active mentoring relationships without adding staff.
