Preview of the Global Asset and Wealth Management Firm Case Study

a global asset and wealth management firm strengthens AI governance with KPMG’s scalable testing model

The Global Asset and Wealth Management Firm, a capital markets client, sought to strengthen its assessment and governance of AI systems. The client engaged KPMG to address gaps in its technology review process and build a more robust, repeatable, and scalable model for testing both internally developed and third-party AI systems before deployment, aiming to improve trust, accountability, and regulatory compliance.

KPMG designed and delivered an AI system card template and a supporting governance model. This framework documented how AI systems were built, their capabilities, limitations, and potential risks, while a quantitative rubric was used to evaluate performance, safety, and transparency. As a result, the client instituted a new requirement that all high-risk AI systems undergo this KPMG testing, which led to increased transparency, faster risk assessments, and stronger alignment with internal policies and external regulations, creating a potential competitive advantage.
